Hooked

Hooked

A Poem by Jake Staffeld

You refused to slow down

Despite repeated warnings

They lie when they tell you

That the good die young

So hold on as long as you can

Cause there's one end

To this road you're on

So don't give up

Keep on running along

It might hurt now

But the pain goes away

Quickly

As it starts feeling good

You'll beg for more

I know you can't live without

Now you've been filled

With my poisoin

Cause it used to be fun

To soar in the clouds

Now you just feed the need

Cause you've been hooked
