The Symphony

The Symphony

A Poem by Jake Staffeld

Warm up in the back room

Now you're in tune

Walk out with the group

Take your seat

Play these notes

The whole song's an improve

Crescendos and accents

In a cadenza forever held

The others will rush at their own speed

Leaving all performers as soloists

Play a wonderful duet

Hold it as long as you can

Then it's back to the solo

Take a stand

Play your dynamics

Creat a chord

Go from solo to duet

To small group

Back eventually to solo

Your song is ended

Take a bow

Put your instrument down

And walk off the stage

To all manner of praise and criticism

I've gone through this before, back when I used to play with my friends and when I did talent shows. Great job! Good poem.

Wow this was really good. It felt as if I was listening to the music being played and watching the performance as well.

Fantastic!
