Things in the Night

Apparently, it's scary.

As you turn out the light

Hear the bump

A creak of a stair

The moan of a door

Fight the sleep

Hope that it's all 

In your imagination

As you lay down

Steps come down the hall

And from under the bed

Your childhood nightmares

Have come alive

Turn on the light

They disappear

Get back in bed

They return

Have a good night

A voice says

But you're already gone
