Welcome to America

Welcome to America

A Poem by Jake Staffeld
"

A cynical look at immigration and the land of opportunity.

"

Welcome To America

We'll take you huddled masses

And the wretched refuse of your shores

As long as they aren't sick

Assuming they aren't criminals

And of course, they must conform

Cast aside all there old traditions

And embrace ours immeadiatly

They may not be of a different religion

We sure do hope they're rich

We seek to make them understand

That rights on paper aren't rights at all

Don't bother protesting

Your voice won't be heard

Politicians have been bought

Since the beggining

And the wars we fight

We fight with your blood

So Welcome to America

With our filth ridden shores

Welcome to America

Where we're all poor

Welcome to America

There are no jobs here

Welcome to America

Now would you kindly leave?
