What I Couldn't Say BeforeA Poem by PhoenixI think I wrote this about a year ago. I didn't post it because I didn't want to admit it.Don’t you know that your kisses can’t reach me? You can’t reach me. Try to fix me. And you might find what you want to see. Try to fix me, then maybe we could just be.
Can’t you see I gave up on my heart? I put it away, I tore it apart. You could try to fix me. I could try to break free.
Can’t you see the tears behind my eyes? The ones that hide, the ones I despise? You could try to fix me. You and me is how I want it to be.
Can’t you see that I’m frightened? Did you feel my grip as it tightened?
Can’t I see that you care? Can’t I believe you’re really there?
This is too good to be true. I can’t feel it, I don’t know what to do. Try to fix me, then maybe I could see. © 2010 PhoenixAuthor's Note
