What I MissA Poem by PhoenixYep, it's a break-up poem.
What happened? What happened? Why are you gone??
Please come back and tell me that nothing is wrong!
It’s been a short time, but it’s been so long –
It’s strange what I miss, now that you’re gone…
Your showered smell and your morning breath,
That cough that sounds like you’ve caught your death,
The towel I save for you, that you always use,
The food I make for you, that you always refuse,
You always said good morning, and always said good night,
I always fixed your hair, though it never sat quite right,
I miss racing you to get to our dates,
We ate burgers, and drank milkshakes,
I miss…I miss just holding your hand,
Letting go is what I can’t stand…
I miss your kindness, and your weirdness,
And of course I still miss all those kisses.
So goodbye my dear, my beau, my friend…
I miss you real bad…but we’ll meet again.
