Somewhere Hidden

Somewhere Hidden

A Poem by Phoenix
"

Something worth waiting for.

"

He is honest, even harsh –
Tells it like it is
Because that’s all that he is.
He likes to think, and to feel,
Could take on the world
And loves only what’s real.
He doesn’t care for wrappers,
Only the gift inside –
He’ll strip it all away
To find where the treasure hides.
His heart casts a shadow
Right over his soul,
And he’s waiting for me
To fill in the holes.
His thoughts are a maze
That I try to learn,
Even though every word
Creates a new turn.
He covers it all with spines and thorns
And in front of it a monster
To guard the only door.
I’ll see him, in time,
And find a way to get by –
Because for him I’ll open my heart
And give what is mine.

Author's Note

Phoenix
I thought of the first two lines for this while doing chemistry homework, which then led to extreme procrastination.
Ive wanted to write this for a long while. It feels like A Thirsty Heart and Those Eyes.... because, like them, it feels like I've written it a thousand times already.

About
I have so many ideas and feelings, and they usually buzz around inside me wildly. When I can gather up enough of them, then a piece of writing emerges and I feel refreshed. more..
