Freedom will not Die

Freedom will not Die

A Poem by Phoenix
"

Another middle school poetry assignment I dug up, which also had to be written based on the title you were given.

"

Once again a hole is dug,

And once again it's filled.

A stone is placed at its head -

He is just another to be killed.

My brother is now dead.

But at least I can say

That he had gone free

And he had felt it each day.

My brother has not really gone,

He is in each of us - you and me.

Something just doesn't seem quite right with this poem. I guess it was just kind of rushed, but that's only because I didn't have a whole lot of time to write it.

Ya. I think the beginning ideas arnt as developed as they would like to be......maybe, if you feel upto it, you should go back and rewrite this poem?

Aww, that was sweet. Middle school poetry? Which class was this for?

Anyways, you seemed to have been a pretty good poet just as you are now. The way that the poem flowed and it's deep opening. I think that's pretty talented; I would've never been able to come up with that type of opening you presented to us here.

This is a nice lil poem. Glad you found it and I'm grateful you posted it!

Eternally Yours, Blade and Blood (aka Jasmine)

I have so many ideas and feelings, and they usually buzz around inside me wildly. When I can gather up enough of them, then a piece of writing emerges and I feel refreshed. more..
