I'm SorryA Poem by PhoenixThinking back to old feelings and they astound me
My heart, in pain
Reaches back to you My spirit, when lame Glares back at you You're an old battle scar A break that healed wrong Cold days make it sore Even looking back from this far Let's get this out Let's let this go Let me write, let me shout Let me face the doubt I remember a night I looked myself in the face I held my head in my hands And knew it wasn't right I was burning, burning It wouldn't stop Don't hurt me please My spirit weakened, unfurling Great damage was done Reverberating to this day I didn't want to let it happen I was so young The memories are thundering I'm scorched and scabbed I hold my old wounds I'm bitter and cowering © 2017 PhoenixAuthor's Note
