House of HeartsA Poem by Jaffa ForbesYou gave it away with a look, That precious simple look like white linen that's all yours; It's telling me everything: You're telling me I'm fine, But no vision, no secret star viewed in the velvet night, spied from your house of hearts. Dare say your wide eyed, Dripping tepid smiles At the thought of lyrics Shaped in your form, Words bended and built, Crafted into songs As strong as all I am... A love as strong as the wind, Wide eyed you look up to the sky And wonder where it comes from, Invisible, oblivious forces Drawn in and out of the void. All you are is another one, Another heart stealer that Comes and goes as with the Change in season. All that you are is a thought. All that you are is that look. That precious simple look like white linen that's all yours; And it's telling me everything. © 2010 Jaffa Forbes |
