Sunbeam

Sunbeam

A Poem by Jaffa Forbes

Sunbeam, it's not
that you mean
anything..
Just a golden rush
running liquid
around my
head...

...and the sky
pulls the land,
Higher than the hills,
Higher than the arched
cathedral...

...the waves kiss the shore
and you brush the moon,
The earth melts the day,
The light fades, burns
into night, and seals it with
your glaring look, sunbeam...

It's not that you mean
anything.

But you warm me, sunbeam,
For a second, a ray of silver
painted bright this dreary day.
