Trying to paint on a poet's canvas everything that happens in one nanosecond.
Then in a blur all nations faded,
The clouds rolled swiftly by and
sunsets came and went.
The seeds were hatched, the
eggs made, the flies came,
the flies went; and all of
creation, all nations stood
standstill in the midst of a cloud,
watching the lark rise with malice
to settle in the centre of the sun
before falling, and falling deep
and suddenly as burning leaves
on a tearless moonlit night.
In a blur, in a blink of an eye,
all this happened today.
And I just stood wondering;
Utterly confused.
I really like this. The short line lengths really seem to make it like that nanosecond in which everything happens, like everything is going in fast forward. Your poetry has a lovely sense of rhythm to it. I hope you keep writing beyond the confusion.
I like this nanosecond. Though, I wish your description of it was longer. I think the repetitions make it seem short. You repeat the word blur, and cloud, and the phrasing around them is so similar... maybe I am crazy. Anyways. The imagery is exquisite. I have a television in my head, so I really enjoy pictures in words. Nicely done.
Beautiful and vivid imagery captured in this work. What an undertaking. Truly moving. I often stand or even sit wondering. As Aristotle said, 'Philosophy begins in wonder and wonder is the duty of the Philosopher.' I believe you have captured that essence here. Great work.
