Funny how people change,

Funny how we thought it wouldn’t happen.

Funny how as children we think we are safe.

Funny how we trusted everyone,

Funny how there’s no escape.

Funny how we all grow up,

Funny how we think we can change the world.

Funny how dreams, hardly ever come true

Funny how we continue to do what we do

Funny how we laugh about nothing at all

Funny how we function when we need to run away

Funny how I never seem to know what to say

Funny how our friends never seem to be true

Funny how when it comes to you I have no Clue

That final line really is the Punch line, the one that doesn't ask the inferred questions of the previous ones. There are some very specific not so funnies in this poem, a strong awareness of how life is especially lines 4 and 5, 7 and 8; I might just as well add that everything you include rings a bell in my mind
