Mirror

 

When I look in the mirror

I see the real me,

I see a girl, who’s confused,

Someone who’s alone,

I see sadness, through my eyes.

I see a life full of secrets,

A life full of lies,

A world full of possibilities,

Which I chose to ignore,

I see someone innocent,

Not one with the label ‘w***e’

When you look into my eyes,

What do you see?

I bet you recognise, a different side

Of me.

A mirror can be our best friend or worse enemy. This really showed the emotion many, sadly, have to face everyday just looking in the mirror. Great write :)

I enjoy this concept it makes you think of your own idea of a mirror. I feel we all could write our own mirror poem and they would almost all be different. That is a wonderful thing when you can bring your own personality and feelings into your words creating a response in other people, no matter what the response is. The fact that there is a response is a success. This is dark and heart wrenching with a side of hope.
