My daughter had something like this happen to her. This guy liked her for two years, talked to all his friends about her, and when she finally decided to give him a try, he switched, and ignored her and went in her opposite direction. She asked him what she did wrong (they never even went on a date yet) but he would not tell her. Painful and just game-playing, and just wrong.
