This poem = why I don't vote. It's all bullshit. I live in the US, and over here people love to pretend that our government is the only one not filled with b******s. But you have to be a b*****d to be in government in the first place. I'm not an anarchist- I recognize the necessity of government, but I also recognize its' potential for disastrous corruption. I just avoid it as best I can.
Okay, I am an editing nut so here goes- correct spelling is "guilty". Is Crims a slang word for criminals? Not a good idea to use slang unless it is very well known. And the "I" needs to be capitalized. I really identify with the subject matter of this poem. So many people have their heads in the time of "Leave It To Beaver' when it comes to law enforcement. Yes, I am sure there are some honest cops, somewhere, but the days when you can assume, oh, a police officer, always honest and upright, have left us, I'm afraid. We only hear about the really shocking cases on the news, but there are abuses against people everyday I have no faith in the system.
Nicely written, and all of it true, sadly. Those written in quick, jot-me-down formats are often the best. However, I do believe this one was done in record time!! lol
Sometimes the poems that come in a flash are the best. My poem Masquerade came like that. This is really good, brief but thought provoking. It's true here, too!
