This just came to me.

This just came to me.

A Poem by SuicidePact.

When I was a little girl

I had a dream

and a pen in pocket.

I always knew I could do great things

Could go anywhere in the world.

Others tried to bring me down

But I just stood up straighter.

Now all my friends are gone

and I am left with just a paper.

My imagination going wild

and I can't try to contain it.

It wants to get the message out

all you can do is read it.

all you can do is read it.

I love pens. There is something about them. They are somehow symbolic of the drive in you that you capture in this poem. I got into writing with cheapo cartridge pens from W.H.Smith. I love the feel of the ink just flowing onto that paper. Recently I've got a more pricy pen which I am totally in love with. i don't normally get excited about objects of any kind, but this pen I am. it is about six inches away from my left hand right now. I can't actually be sure of the colour as it is a sort of silvery, golden, black. Yep, I'm obsessed alright! But it's a good obsession. And I KNOW that that pen will not let me down. Maybe we need to be a little crazy to fool around with words like this. I read your msg and APPROVE! Good luck!

i love the use of a 'pen' being a metaphor for ideas and intellectual property. i am giving this a 100/100

Wow... hmmm.
What to say about this? It is really good.
The title, I like. It fits actually in it's own unique way.
I love the story in this, the first stanza "When I was a little girl" ... to the middle stanza, i like these lines:
"Others tried to bring me down
But I just stood up straighter."
Nice repeating lines in the end, pen and paper can help so much.

Gods! This is s beautiful poem. I could picture a cute little girl in a blue sundress holding a pen like a painter's brush. I absolutely loved this Jenna!

Sometimes you find that the most loyal friend are the ones we take forgranted, and i feel our friend the pen is one if the most neglected of all. I thought this was a very unique and insightful piece, and it reminds me of when i have some poem brewing waiting to be spit onto paper. This is brilliant.
