Introduction:
Third Person Becky looked
around the apartment for the last time, making sure she hadn’t missed anything.
This was basically an every month thing for her, packing then unpacking. It
seemed to be a never ending routine. Her son, Liam, was the epitome of
troublesome. He has this unique anger that controls the way he acts. Becky is
scared for her son, she just wants him to have a good last two years of school.
Hopefully the last. He has been in the eleventh grade for two years. She never
liked explaining what happened the second time. It’s never fun having the
principle call you and tell you that your son has beaten a boy so badly he was
in critical condition for two weeks. When Liam got home that day, he was in a
happy mood. Becky called a psychologist that night, found out that Liam blacks
out when it happens. Becky has been very cautious not to tick Liam off in the slightest
way. She knows all of the nerves not to push, which makes her feel a bit
better. Even her husband, William, stands close by to her just in case of any sudden
outbursts. With a sad sigh
Becky turned around and smiled at her son. He was leaning against the door frame
staring down at the ground. “Let’s go honey, we have a long car ride to go
through.” With light clicks of her heels she filed out of their-the house. “You
ready?” Will said, closing the trunk to his SUV. Becky nodded her head and
pecked him on the lips. She pulled away feeling someone behind her. “Okay.” She
opened Liam’s door and then her own before getting into the warm cool car. “Say
goodbye to seeing the sidewalk. North Dakota is a mean state when it comes to winter.”
Becky said buckling herself in. “Honey, can you hand me a blanket?” Liam got up
on his knees and stretched to grab a blanket, two in fact. “Thank you.”
“Welcome.” He mumbled. Liam grabbed his phone, plugged his headphones in, and
then laid down. He soon fell asleep. Becky looked in
the review mirror and smiled. “I really hope we can stay this time.” Becky
said, averting her sad eyes to Will. He grasped Becky’s’ hand and squeezed it
lightly. “I do as well, honey. We can
just only pray.” “Well, maybe he could start trying those pi-.” ‘‘Becky, you
know he won’t take them. We have already tried it, then he didn’t come home
that night.” Becky slouched down in her seat and closed her eyes. “Hey.” A
raspy voice sounded in the back. Becky turned around and smile. “Hi sweetie.”
Liam pushed himself up so he sat comfortably. “Hi. Can we stop by a diner or
somewhere? I really need a drink and food.” “Yeah, we were thinking about a really
early breakfast.” Will said. “Okay. How much further?” Becky looked at her Trip
Tick, “About three hours, maybe less, since there isn’t much traffic.” Liam
nodded and yawned. Preston Jr/Sr High
School, knew what they were in for. Having Liam in their school, and helping
him pass the eleventh grade could earn their school much more respect. More
people would want to come, which meant more GPA’s could be handed out. Teaches
were bubbling with joy for noon to roll around. They couldn’t wait for Liam to
step into their school. This is going to be their year. This is going to be
Liams’ year. Nobody knew what exactly they have in store. Don’t be happy until
you have a reason to be. © 2014 Jae |
