Empathy

a poem of love for all.

I care about all life and the living. 

I feel life's pain all the time. 

It comes at me in waves of sorrow 

that is felt around the world.

 I am a natural em path 

and it is taking it's toll on my health.

 I have not learned how to shield

 myself from all the waves of pain.

 I do find though when I feel someone 

else's pain that it eases the pain they feel. 

Guess that is a good thing for the 

pained one's out in the world just 

not so good for my health .. 

Still I find life is beautiful 

but all the horror present 

makes me cry for the victims of horror... 

for their families pain. 

I lose faith in humanity at times too 

yet just one act of human kindness 

can bring it back to me. God bless

the living and shield the innocents 

from feeling the hurt that I feel

from others in the world. 

I care about all life...

and the living too.

Empathy for others is a gread trait....sometimes it can be a burden when described here in your poem, that drains you of your health. When I worked as a profesional caregiver for so many years I had to learn to empathize without draining myself of my much needed energy and health

I can feel you on this cause this happens to me too. A medicine man once told me that the pain in my back is related to me taking on the pain of other people and for some reason that made sense to me. I am not sure how to stop doing this or if you even should. Trying to shield yourself from taking on too much might be the only option.

do not loose faith just change what you see
now looking past the bad traits of others can be a treat but it does not help
I still like to think there are more good folks then bad...I just look harder
but I am a sucker ...even folks with bad intentions have been taught those skills through their own life lessons
