Away

Away

A Poem by Jade Whitehouse

You’ve turned and walked away,
My eyes turn back your way.
All I dreamt to do is run back to you.
You’d left.
When you felt my skin,
All past meetings came flooding in.
Nothing to flood them except a shed load of gin.
That only served me hell.
We didn’t fit, like that of lemon and lime.
We didn’t clash,
Like you and her, in a death match.
I, a person to plug the gap.
As you and her ran into a speed bump,
On your nightmare lap.
