Doubts of Night

Doubts of Night

A Poem by Sarah

Push away the words of fear
That echo in my hollow ear,
Be filled to burst and slow to tear
As lured in close, but not too near.

The doubts of night are all within,
A hallowed bed will not begin,
What fell away might be akin
To love; but not the naked skin.

Tempt sweet lover yet be pure,
Like waterfalls; a secret cure
Just watch, don't touch; it won't endure-
Enraptured voice despite allure.

Desire hath but one mistake
In leaving last we come to ache
For none may have what he won't take-
Heart-filled; happy but to break.
