On Heartache and...

On Heartache and...

A Poem by Sarah
"

This is the second of two poems that go together as a whole. The first was written while I was falling for someone who had been hurt in the past. This one was after he left and I was pissed at being hurt in return!

"

You make a fool of loving trust,
Her proffered palms found only lust,
Innocence does what it must-
You lead her on like drossy dust.

As long as left there is some hope,
You use her; only meat to grope,
Treason: all that lies in scope; but
Her heart was made to heed and cope.

She strives and fights in light of day,
But nothing comes; though here it lay
In death the loving heart that weigh
On conscience dearth of all dismay.

To forgive and hope again-
Is all she ever did maintain.
These hearts oft fail to ascertain,
What man is serious; which plays the game.

In heartache lives a sacred trust,
Your hidden lies, her wistful lust,
But nothing comes, but that it must; be
Of some use or unto dust.
