A voice ricochets in the silence

Of an empty mind.

A feeling swells

To the strum of a guitar.

Something beautiful blooms,

From the bud held tight.

 

We breathe music like we breathe air.

We rely on it,

As if it’s the cement holding our very existence together…

And perhaps it is.

 

A timeline

Uniting the past and future

To form the present.

A connection

Between music and life,

Melodies and memories.

And we dance

To the rhythm of a beating heart.

 

Music is the solid foundation on which I stand.

The floor on which I sway to the harmony.

The beam holding my life together.

 

Our stories can be recorded,

And told in musical notes.

A secret language of millions.

 

I encourage you,

Implore you,

And I challenge you

To find the music in your life.

Let it heal the hurt,

And express the good.

You don’t realize,

But you need it.

 

We dance through life to melody,

And feel in the key of g, f,

It doesn’t really matter,

As long as we breathe the air

Overflowing with harmony and unity,

And let it all soak in.

 

Appreciate this base,

This safe haven,

Succumb to it,

And sway to the sound.

For life without music would be

Silent.
