Welcome To My Home, I Thought You'd Never ComeA Poem by JadeWhere do you come from?Where am I from? I’ll tell you where I’m from. I’m from the sidewalks and
pavement of the big city. The rolling hills of a small
town. The air we breathe, The sky we see, And the world we live in. I am from the pen and paper, The words that make a statement. I am from the right to write, For the pen is mightier than the
sword. The ink-laden pages of the past. The stories well known And the stories untold. I am from the smell of candles
lit And the warmth of a fire burning
bright. I live a life consumed with love
and feeling. I live a life piled high with
family and friendship. And I hopefully lead a life that
others will follow. Where am I from? I am from the people. I am from the strength and
determination And the will to live. And to speak our minds. I am from something bigger than
us. We are from something bigger,
greater than us. And we all are of something
bigger and better than we realize. If you want to be remembered, You must make a statement And do something worthy of being
remembered. Because the earth, The sky, The air, And the hearts of others is our
home. © 2013 JadeAuthor's Note
