Skipping Stones

Skipping Stones

A Poem by Jade
"

Peace and serenity, everyone interprets it in different ways.. This is mine.

"

I go skipping across the water

Eventually time runs out,

And I go under,

Deep under into a world of serenity

Never to be awoken… let me rest…

I sit on a rock, much larger than the ones I toss,

And I take in my surroundings

A pond and a dock

An old rope tied to a tree

Peace and quiet, only the sounds of water rippling… Let me rest…

Skipping stones is a two way street.

You need yourself and the stone, two working as one

After skipping, we both rest…

The stone and I…

Let us rest...

As our ocean, as our deepest poetry, as our hearts to reach all of that which consumes and inspires!! Beautiful poem. I was feeling as though I was lazily upon a beach by a pond or that of an ocean in full reverence of this scene you have painted for me to dissolve into!! : ) ...just gorgeous!! Your sentiment in relating the stone to steps we take, the moods we ponder as humans, and the relationships we make with friends and nature, alike, is wonderful the way you have written and carefully split up into two very special and unique stanzas. I have to say, It's incredible to come across a wonderful piece that not only gets me to ponder about such beautiful things, but to also enjoy a writer who is of obvious talent in affecting me when all else confuses. Beautiful Jade.... so beautiful!!
