Too Young To Love

Too Young To Love

A Poem by Kay Ann

People say I am too young to love. That is utter blasphemy.
I feel love when I see my mother humming as she plays the piano with hymns from her childhood. I feel love when my father tells me a story or from work I've heard a thousand times, but I still listen and enjoy it immensely because of the way his eyes light up. I feel love when I think of my friends that I keep loosing. It is proof I can love in the way my tears fall as people drift across the country for how could I not cry. Pain is inevitable when you love. And I might not have been "in love" with someone at this age but I will someday. And when I find myself to be in love we shall be with each other as long as is allowed. Do not dare try and deceive me in saying I am too young to love.
