The Ropes by which I'd Like to Die

The Ropes by which I'd Like to Die

A Poem by Jacqueline Murray
"

"
Whether a lucid dream or a secular fantasy I know not.
Celestial ropes around my neck pull taut.
But if this would be the way to choke
And by these ropes I'd die,
Please know that in this shell I'd live if
You for me could cry.
