Decomposition in two parts

Decomposition in two parts

A Poem by Jacqueline Murray
"

"
I: Consumption

Consumed
am i
by
dyes
of Indigo,
filmy skins that Coat
the Lens Piece,
"relief" that Stings like
dry ice
--and
flies,
Entering my pores--
risen fragments
of my Bifurcated soul:
the Left come alive and
spewing peeled thumbprints,
stinking
like so many
fresh paint fumes

II: Feast

a "c"orporal "p"aramount
does become
the cast
from which
Rebirth(?) hath sprung
wrung
dry
of juices tart and
Nectars
--"Die!";
second cousin
of the Green
more voracious in
appetite,
stealth
of music-making,
a Clamor muted
and transmuted
by the fluted teeth
of Letum
--while with Nox and Somnus
deceiving
he who ought now to be grieving
falsehoods
much like
"B"eauty! of
the turning
of
the leaves
