Side by Side

Side by Side

This is the first poem that I planned and wrote, please be constructive.

"

Don’t look back, run,
Run as far as we can,
Stay by my side,
Let’s run hand in hand,

Let’s run away from all this,
the love, the hate,
Let’s run from ourselves,
Let’s run from fate.

Fate. It’s very possible she doesn’t exist,
But when I look in your eyes it’s hard to miss,
That reflection of expression,
The want of you. The one I need. I love you.

Yet it’s odd,
The way you’ve changed,
Your no longer my friend,
that relationships been betrayed,

It’s gone. Dead. It died to young,
It didn’t have time to grow,
To live,
To blossom.

And now, when I look in your eyes,
That love that I felt before,
Doesn’t flood back,
It’s just natural.

It feels as natural as living,
As natural as feeling,
As natural as sprinting,
And as natural as running.

So let’s go,
Let’s run and never look back,
And we’ll laugh and dance,
Create our own beaten track.

We’ll live and die together,
By each other we’ll abide,
We’ll share this love
Side by side.
