An Invitation That I Never Accept

An Invitation That I Never Accept

A Poem by Jacob Brine

I was sitting in my car

Waiting for a friend

When a blond girl walked by

And looked my way

She was cute

In tight jeans

And was smiling

At me

I felt good

But sad too

For I knew

No matter how hard I tried

I'd never belong

To that world

Or to that smile
