A Brief Moment

A Brief Moment

A Poem by Jacob Brine

Freckles

that remind me

Of glittering stars

orbiting around

the brownest suns I have ever seen

That shine so bright

I have to look away

Hair

That's so dark I get lost

Like on a summer night

taking moments

To breathe in the refreshing air

Which dances all around me

Hands

So smooth

that the ocean must have

Taken such care

As it softly gave them shape

There are so many

Things

I wish to say

But never can

When our eyes meet

For just a moment
