Questionable

Questionable

A Poem by Outcast
"

This is a play off of a quote I heard from the movie Akeelah and the Bee

"
Our deepest fear, is that we are inadequate.

We are told each day, that we are merely a shell of our former selves, and that we will never rise to the occasion.

We are given a list of everything we are not and we are told that is true. Who am I to have the audacity to believe I matter, when every corner tells me otherwise? It is our light that persists on shining through, just to be crushed by darkness.

We look for strength in God and then we are told the cup is half empty.

We live striving to make others lives meaningful, just to have our manifest destiny stripped from our bare hands.

It is our light that brings forth such shadows.

Not bad. I think you could have expanded it. Explore other sides of the predicament you exposed. Keep writing! There is something there!
