Box Shaped Heart

Box Shaped Heart

A Poem by Jacky Bones

You write about love
Like it will never be enough
To save you from the rut
That you got yourself stuck in
That you jumped in
Head first
With your hands tied behind your back
you cant swim
What is it that you're
trying to do
Get drunk on the empathy?
Lost in the clarity
Can you even smile
At the thought of me?
How do I trust you
When you don't even
Dignify you

Powerful statements in this poem. Create visions with your words. Some folk need to be felt and seen.
"What is it that you're
trying to do
Get drunk on the empathy?"
A strong ending to a excellent poem.
