Try So Hard To Pretend (That You're Not Here)A Poem by Jacky BonesI'm on my way To some where far away I can still feel you AS empty as my skin Wake me when its thru Cause I take something for the pain That passes good times...Goodbye Today doesn't need to start Or start over And over again I'll give you a hand My friend But sadly this is the end You can hang me Next to the sky Onmy way back to you If your words speak true Please tell me what to do
CAnt seam to stand straight up When we're always falling down But we still climb these jagged cliffs Looking to be the next big hit Windows open while Doors tend to shut us down Give us a eagles view Of how beautiful The city lights are While we're falling in the ocean Clawing at the stars A we dig beyond rock bottom I breathe this air I give To give my final wish To leave this city of dirt So far behind That my eyes go blind These days wont take me And the walls write GET OUT ALIVE So I ran like hell Till my ankles bleed
His little hands block out the sun Her little hands block out the sun While Police scream "Put your hands in the air!" They drop flowers at their feet We awake to blood and fear on our streets
Its not because of you But I'm missing Missing the point Behind closed doors I cant find Hope Or obligations to keep fighting These wars I wage against myself On every corner Till I hit the oceans floor And I'll find a reason To keep you from leaving
I tried to buil us wings Out of paper But all the cuts Soacked thru © 2009 Jacky BonesAuthor's Note
