Giga TownA Chapter by Johnny JackChapter 4, this is where the story really starts to take place. The town was Huge!.!.! We wonder in through the town gates and are almost instantly greeted by the town’s mayor from what I could tell. “Hello there” the man greeted us ”You must be Mr.Draken’s son” “You know my father?” I ask the man. “Of course I know your father. He was our best weapons maker” the man said. “He was. Wow I never knew” I tell the man surprised. “Well I guess he never really talks about his work while he’s at home. So sorry to hear about his late demise” The man said comfortingly “He told me about his illness and the only thing he asked of me was to give you guys one of our houses” “Thanks for telling me that. I didn’t know that he was a weapon maker here. Do you think you could bring me to his workshop so I could, you know, leave my consent” “Oh of course I could do that for you and your friends, I suppose they are, bring you to your father’s workspace” He said sympathetically. “Thank you” I express my gratitude “May I ask the name of my father’s acquaintance?” “Why my name is Herod, to governor of this wonderful city” he introduced. “My father told me about you. You’re the governor of the city of the Dungeon” I say. “That, I am” he replies. Then he starts walking away from our direction and then says”Well your father’s workshop is this way” and we follow. As we passed a variety of shops and displays Herod would tell us about them almost like a tour guide. He obviously knew the streets well because he would weave in and out of different alleyways and go down all over the place commentating about the city streets and areas. The place even had a huge market for weapons and armor and other stuff. It seemed as if he was never going to stop until he says “Here we are, Your father’s one and only Weaponsmith workshop. I’ll be waiting outside til you need me. Next stop is your new house here” “Thank you very much, Mr.Herod. I’ll just be a moment” I reply. I step inside and look around the place. The first thing you see when you walk in is a counter and behind it a giant titanium hellforge. To the left there are an array of empty display cases and to the right there were small round tables and seats all around set up like it was sort of like a bar. When I looked around in that area I figure out that it used to be a pub of some kind with the counter extended all the way down to this area and behind it down here I saw the bar. I read the plaque behind the counter displayed above the forge. It read ‘Our service is the best or your next weapon set is free’. I found it kind of funny seeing the plaque ensure something that’s free. I guess I know where I get my mixing skills from now. Eve and the others seem to have been taking it all in by then. I say”Come on we don’t want to keep the nice gentleman waiting now do we” and we go back outside. “Oh, you’re ready now?” “Yeah, I hope you don’t mind me asking but was my father’s weapon shop also a Pub?” “Why yes it was my dear boy, and a very popular one to. It’s okay you can ask me anything for that matter any ways. Now off to our next stop, your house” And off we go just like that. While walking I wonder what it was like at the Pub while it was still open. I bet my father was there probably flirting with some girl at the counter while she was waiting for her order. Typical, I thought. Then a few moments later we arrive an average sized house with, from the looks of it, five or six rooms. Herod was about to leave when I ask him”Do you think you could give me the keys to my father’s shop?” “W-why?” He asks befuddled. “I’m thinking about taking over his work” “R-really!!! That sounds wonderful. You have experience in weaponsmithing?” He said surprised. “Yeah, just a little, but I have great experience with mixing drinks and serving food” “Wow really! This is great, but I have to ask… What is your heritage, exactly?” He sounded a little worried as he finished saying that last sentence. “I’m not very familiar with the term for my father’s side-” “The term would be Devilish, Your father was a Devlin man” “And on my mother’s side Elven” “I’m sorry what was that last part?” Herod asks politely. “Sorry I mean Elfish” I clarify. “Oh really, I guess that would explain your pointed ears then” He pointed out “It makes me so happy to hear that you’re going to take over your father’s business, I’ll go get the keys right away!” he said before he disappeared. “Jakob are you really thinking about running your dad’s old shop?” Eve asked nervously. “Of course, it’s the least I can do for the old man and anyway it sounds like it could be fun” “We didn’t know your mother was an Elf” Persain said to me. “Sorry I don’t really like to talk about my mother all that much” I say a bit depressed. “N-no I didn’t mean anything by it. I’m sorry” Persain apologized, slightly upset with herself. “No need to get all upset about it, it’s not like you knew anyway. So now you know.” “Sorry, you’re right, I need to get over myself” “You were never about yourself like always” I say to cheer her up… It worked. “Aw, thanks for being kind” Persian said slightly cheered up. “It’s okay, come here” I Said while pulling Persain into a hug and I kiss her. “Hello there again. I’ve brought you the keys to the shop” Said Herod. “Oh! Thank you so very much Mr.Herod mayor sir” I reply caught of guard and a little flustered. “Oh there’s no need for thanks for I should be thanking you” The mayor said flattered and then says while handing me the keys “I’m sure your father would be proud” “I’m sure he would” I agree with him. “Now I must be going, you know, business to attend to, newcomers to welcome” He said while departing. “Fair well” we bid to the mayor as he left. I take one last look around the shop before asking “Well how about go check out the house and pick our rooms” “That sounds lovely” Hate replies and with that we were off towards the house. On our way there we frequently stop and browse the shops that lined the street seeing the odd trinkets and delicacies that they sold. As we pass through the gate to get to the front door we start to see the full size of the house. The house was definitely bigger than the one I had in the late Demon world and was modernly designed to blend with the area. Walking through the front door we enter the grand hall. It was kind of overkill in my eyes. There’s a huge glass chandelier hanging from the ceiling in the center of the room and underneath it was an arrangement of couches, chairs, and small tables placed in a way that welcomed comfort and seemed to say sit back and hang for a while. The floor is white marble tile that had a partial polished gleam to it which easily welcomed comfort as well. A little down the wall to the left is an opening that leads into the kitchen complete with a wood fired stove and oven with a sink and cabinets filled with utensils, plates, trays, bowls, and other such things. Up the stairway we look down at the living area and are amazed by it’s view. The rooms upstairs were much more normal than the rest of the house each one with it’s own bath. There were six rooms total all about the same size. There was one room that had no windows in which was taken up by Hate who seemed to be bothered by bright beams of sunlight. The other rooms had at least one window and the same kinds of furnishings. Eve took the middle room on the right side of the hall. I took the middle room on the left side while Persain took the room next to mine on the left. Hate was to the right of my room and Eve’s is parallel to mine. With that out of the way I go back down stairs leaving them to unpack and whatever in their rooms. In the living area I start reading through the pamphlets and other such things that Herod had given me. I learned that in order to make money from exploring the dungeon you need to become registered first. One of the requirements you need in order to be registered is to find a deity(a god/goddess) to accept you into their “Family” or, if you really wanted to, you could call it something like a clan. I thought about that for a tiny bit. I found it pretty ironic, to be a god under some other god or goddess. I feel a little lost here, it was the most important step and apparently the hardest. I knew no one here and only know the area through the complete memory of the map. This blows big time I think to myself. I let out a hefty sigh when there is a knock at the door. “I wonder who could possibly be coming to this house” I wonder out loud while walking to the door. I open the door saying “Welcome” and practically leap backwards out of shock.
