Not this time

Not this time

A Poem by Jacqueline Emmerson

I could drink twice as much coffee as you
I could read books in a day that would take you weeks
I could dance all night and carry you home
I could wake and make us breakfast before your feet even hit the floor
But when you asked me to forgive you for loving someone else
I couldn't
I really couldn't
