Through Little Eyes

Through Little Eyes

A Poem by Jackie Mckeen

She was born into a world that would easily decieve
Telling her it doesnt get better hoping she'd believe
Her drunken mother appears who never really did care much
The little girl shrinks back with the womans painful touch

The girl's eyes move slowly to the man her mom brought home this time
The abuse the girl recieved was a just another choked out silent crime
Just another evil human in her life she'd have to try to survive
Her little body trembles as she tries to breathe to keep alive

The man was drunk and angry tonight as his blood shot eyes stare
She sees the anger build up as his eyes continue to hold the glare
He throws the little girl across the room and breaks the tv screen
She falls to the floor as her blood and tears mix wondering why hes so mean

The girl's voice shakes as she tries to sit up and quitly sing
She uses rags on her wounds and to keep it up she uses old string
If people saw her world, I wonder howd they react and decide
I wonder what theyd do or if theyd even move on what they feel inside
