Beat Down?A Poem by Jackie MckeenThis tells a little bit of what I went through when I was still in Russia...and tells of how I was saved and no longer am that scared little kid, but a stronger girl who doesnt regret her past cause It makes me who I am today.
Lying on the ground as he hit me some more Pushed down to the lowest anyone could go crawling into a corner to cry, nobody would know
Screaming at me, telling me to die Life hates you, you dont need to try Only one thing echoes and that's my plea "please stop!! you are killing me!"
I got saved from that mess and I'm alive They came and took me, giving me a chance to survive I had to be taught to smile and love, it was all new to me My life was changed around, I didn't know this could be
Now i live and love as if nothing had gone wrong If my past has taught me anything, it was to be strong In fact it doesnt bother me, all that had been done Cause that's what makes me, me today..so in the end...I won
