What Is The Real Life You Live?

What Is The Real Life You Live?

A Poem by Jackie Mckeen
"

I wrote this when I was going through some things. I was working with 4 different bands at the time and I had many people who confided in me. I wanted and tried to help them but I was also trying to get over some stuff and didnt talk to anyone about it an

"

When I stare blankly into the mirror, death is what I see
Blackness clouds my eyes, why is that supposed to be?
Looking at me you think I’m strong and I have no fears
But you don’t know all the times, I’ve wiped away my tears

Standing like a stone statue afraid to move either way
But you do not see that “I admire your strength” is what you say
I do not want to let you down so I do not set my real feelings free
Beat down by the stress, of not letting you have a glimpse of the real me

There is an escape though, that everyone needs to find
Its something everyone needs, its something that is always on my mind
It’s something other people have, and I wish I did to
It’s something that has been around forever, It isn’t anything new

Love is what everyone on earth needs to be happy here
It’s not something you can buy; It’s not something you need to fear
It’s a feeling felt in your heart, a feeling set apart from the rest
Life is really hard to pass through like a an exam or big  test
