A Poem

A poem:
a vessel for words to set in
words that are pretty, or words ugly as sin
words full of wonder, words laden with woe
words that are friendly, or words fighting foes

A poem:
emotions that everyone's felt
a kiss on the lips,  or a dirty deed dealt
Some dulled with tears, some bright like the sun
unrequited love, or love with just the right one.

A poem:
a, not so small, piece of you
a piece that you've bitten or swallowed or chewed
a Band-Aid, a tonic, a cure for it all
a life saving rope when your starting to fall.

A poem:
a verse, a sonnet, a lyric, an ode
in meter, in prose, in lament to be told
your never to young and your never to old
to release what's inside you for all to behold

I don't think it can be said much better than that. Wonderful.
