Convenient

Convenient

A Poem by Jackie
"

One i wrote about my wife. Sometime i feel like shes to lenient with the kids.

"
You're to lenient. Oh, how convenient
that must be for them.
How benevolent they have become Of you
It's a nice sentiment but do you
Have a clue? When i stand up
Put my foot down and you oblige.

I feel so disrespected, left in disregard
I feel like you discredit. Than tell me I'm being to hard
Well, your to lenient. And how convenient
that has become for them.

To keep disturbing you
until you change your mind.
To oblige, have them turn against my side.

Yes, i lose my mind, tempers flare
But when you give them a loophole
i lose control, every attempt, everything i just said
goes out the window

How convenient...

Reading this, I find restraint seeping from the persona. As the last "how convenient" turns ironic, as it shifts its "for whom" from them to you, the poem concludes like a sigh, reflecting the persona's emotion.

On a side note, raising kids is tough. I hope well for your family.
