Let's Dance to the MoonlightA Poem by Boris Jonathan NovakSometimes love ends before it ever really had a chance.Let's Dance to the Moonlight Tonight I call out to you, but you're nowhere to be found. The trees will be our audience with hushed whispers all around. Where have you gone, my candle in the night, my only true love? Come with me and dance to the rhythm of the moonlight high above. Tonight I spell out your name on a meteorite's long, blue trail. But you're not here. Is there something I did so wrong to fail? Where might you be as I feel the rhythm of the moonlight song? Perhaps it was something I did--something I said--that was wrong. Tonight I ask you to forgive me, if I ever caused you to leave. Please come dance with me; let's make up, or at least make believe. Or maybe my memories of you can be my partner this one last dance. And I'll sway to the music, wishing you'd appear by magical chance. Tonight I call out to you, but your heart must be so far away. The rhythm of the moonlight beckons us together; come this way. Let's waltz to the music; I need you this once--just this night. Let me pretend we're okay. Please, let's dance to the moonlight. © 2018 Boris Jonathan NovakReviews
