I Can't See YouA Poem by Boris Jonathan NovakWhat do you do when you care for someone, but they only look through you because someone else is on their mind?I can't see you, but I'm looking right at you… what lies inside has gone away. You can't see me. It hurts, but I adore you no less. How could I ever go astray? I've said many times I admire your brilliant, cerulean gaze, your sunrise smile, The gossamer of your hair, your seemingly endless grace and noteworthy guile; So tell me why the chains of your pain dissect you from this monumental place. I've sought to understand you, though I cannot see past your now vacant face. I focus on you, into obscure corners of which only a stale glimpse can be seen. Why do you hide yourself, confine yourself, into a place no one's ever been? I can't see you, but I'm looking right into your lost eyes. Why are you not there? Maybe you're thinking of him again... of course, you know that it just isn't fair. You don't see me -- not at all. Though I'm holding your hand, my heat is growing; Melting the Antarctic with my pulse, but I don’t know where your heart is going. © 2015 Boris Jonathan NovakAuthor's Note
