My Gray SkiesA Poem by Boris Jonathan NovakWhen you love someone, the sky should be a beautiful blue.Where are those blue skies that should smile new beginnings for me each new day? I can't seem to find them. I look up, and I only see these cruel frowns of a deeper gray. If I close my eyes tight enough, and wish hard enough, I think I can see sunshine there. But then those gray skies, bitter with your memory, remind me of how much I still care.
It all rushes back to me in a flash as I remember so much -- all the love we'd shared. The whole world didn't matter. We'd taken love to new heights... yes, this we'd dared. I guess things do change, though. There's never been a truer truth. Am I so wrong? I close my eyes again. And for always, there you are in my arms -- we dance to our song.
