I See YouA Poem by Jack The RabbitI don't usually do poetry, but I think the thoughts in my chest right now would best be described as such.
The feeling of you presses into me like a weight.
I know you're there, but I can't see you. Frustration swells in my stomach and I turn again, hoping to catch a glimpse. Nothing. Where the hell are you? I grind my teeth, look again. One eighty. Still nothing. Everyone else is a blur. I begin to feel like a stalked animal, unable to find what I'm supposed to escape from. Look up. I see you. You look down on me stoically, not returning my relief. You had to have seen me looking for you. An uneasy feeling makes me sick and I watch you. What's that in your hand? You raise it and sunlight glints off the metal. I freeze, unable to believe this. Your expression never changes in the two seconds that I have left. Cold. Bang. The last thing I see is the sky. © 2010 Jack The RabbitAuthor's Note
