PalingenesisA Poem by Jack PiattThe night goes
winding off To places I’ll never
have enough of me to find So many corners to
turn, so many faces to learn My studentry envelops
me I’m a star born lover
of cosmic chance Being pulled down
paths with no earthly compass I’m a wanderer of
infinite design Walking and wandering
equal time in my mind Rain soaked and love
cloaked Mud spins and flips
from my feet The towering leaved
canopy stretching above me Trees the fence to
another world So climb the tree to
climb the fence You have to change
the view for it to make sense How does a tree view
the world surrounding Are they the true
fathers initially founding Ancient and sagacious
persisting in patience For us to embrace our
transmigrating existence Stoically as their
bark becomes tome Waiting forbearingly
until we finally come home © 2013 Jack PiattAuthor's Note
