Were Worlds Ending

Were Worlds Ending

A Poem by Jacob Nimble

If the world were to end tomorrow

I would leave my sense behind

sell it to the first fool in my path

for a penny and a loaf of bread

I would ask the questions that needed asking

and leave the worthless ones behind

I would seek solace

I would make sure to smile

one last time

and while it may be horrible

and painful

at least in finality

I could say I had lived well

but tomorrow it will come.

So too the day after

so I must plan

and cognate

and attempt to comprehend

all will be well enough

and if not?

Well tough.
