Jack's DanceA Poem by Jacob NimbleI like to name things, so I named a couple of the more distinct facets of my personality. One's Jack, one's the cliche of Daemon. This is the first of the poems I made (about? For? With?) those two.I put on a mask me no more then I get up and move my feet onto the floor twist the concept of up, down and back then the dance floor shatters but the dance doesn’t crack Dancing in tune with the worlds colliding dancing even as the writers keep writing I take off the mask and it’s lighter than air it keeps up the dance even while I’m not there see they always say that the show must go on but they never say for how long I’ll leave the mask with a rhyme of it’s own even as the watchers go home. Dancing away while time rolls along immortal in the name of the song who’s to tell him he’s all wrong immortal in the name of the song He goes dancing round and round feet never making a sound the lights all dim except on the mask in the air and the mask can’t be bothered to care. I stand in the audience as the music plays down I watch the dance as they turn off the town I take the stage as the mask hits the ground I pick him up and I put him away Jack’s done with his dancing today. He may be a facet He may be a name but he deserves courtesy all the same I can promise you that he’s part of me perhaps in time you’ll see© 2016 Jacob Nimble |
