Loved ones forever

Why do we not respect
The ones who love us
Expecting from those who don't
Maybe it's in the nature of men
To deny what is theirs
Desiring what theirs is not

Moments spent with closed ones
Stay in their minds forever
But the greed to achieve more
Pulls apart even the closest
Forsaking the happiness embarked upon them
All for nought

In this world of frenzy
Friends and family are the ones
Who stand by us
No matter the bright days, No matter the dark
Their loving grace
Forever etched in our hearts
