The Pen and the Kid

The Pen and the Kid

A Story by The Last Dragoon

The Pen was mightier than the Others and he knew it.  Everyone knew it, but only the Kid, who'd shown absolutely no aptitude for penmanship that anyone could see, truly appreciated this.  The Pen knew that the stupid plastic Bics and worn down, nubbly pencils were twisted in adolescent jealousy.  They even leaned away from him in the pen cup (The Pen's Cup) so they could, on the sly, more readily admire his cool brushed steel fuselage, admirably large clip, recessed point -- no caps for The Pen, oh no, no caps for The Pen.

And here's the Kid again, reaching down with grubby fingers, we're going for a ride.  What are we today?  A rocket ship? cruise missile?  jet fighter?

The Pen is up ... and away we go.

ha, this is a quirky poem... the image of the pencils and bics leaning away to take a sly look at the superior Pen... Good job :)
